On Wednesday July 20, 2011, the Los Angeles County Perinatal Mental Health Task Force is offering a basic training on perinatal mental health at Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Services, Child Division. The training will provide an overview of perinatal mood disorders, differential diagnosis, the risk factors, the effects on mothers, fetus, infant and child attachment and the family as a whole. In addition, information about how to screen and intervene will be reviewed, with an emphasis on interventions that are adaptable to community mental health settings. The training is targeted towards licensed social workers, marriage and family therapists, MFTIs, MSWs, psychologists, psychiatrists, care coordinators and other mental health professionals. The training will run from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Continuing Education Credit will be offered.
