The Task Force Training Institute provides trainings in Perinatal Mental Health in a variety of settings:
mental health, community outreach, pediatric, primary care, obstectrical/gynecological and community, field and home based settings.
Upcoming Training Opportunities
As part of the Magnolia Place Maternal Depression Systems Improvement Project, The Los Angeles Perinatal Mental Health Task Force is offering its Basic Training on Perinatal Mental Health on September 22 from 9am -noon at Magnolia Place Family Center
The training is focused on raising awareness around perinatal/maternal depression and its effects on the mother, early childhood development, attachment, parenting and the family. The training incorporates current knowledge about perinatal mood disorders with a strengths -based approach that includes the protective factors and the cultivation of empathy and cultural competence.
This training will be geared toward mental health interns and professionals in the Magnolia Place catchment area.
It is free of charge.
